Kaolin sat in the memories of the dream from which she had just returned and thought about the women who were missing from her people. She thought about the stories she had heard that the missing women had only run away, and then she realized that this dream was really real.
Kaolin then knew that she had to discover a way to free the missing women from the dungeons of Daemon.
Kaolin's mind traveled back through the light, searching for an entrance to the citadel, "The Evil Tower" with two horns.
She searched with her mind, starting at the top of the "Fortress of Daemon", down to the lower levels; and there, she found an entrance. At the sub levels of the dungeons, she found a stream exiting through an opening, which was partially hidden by vegetation. The subterranean corridors led under the dungeons and into the mountain, on which Daemon had his stronghold.
Kaolin quickly put her stone into her little pouch that she carried on a leather strap around her waist and hurried back to her village to tell her two friends, Karine and Karla.
Karine and Karla were both visiting an old friend, Norman, who worked at perfecting his inventions like discovering new ways to make pottery. Norman was working on some new, clay-like material that he had discovered while searching for firewood. When he saw Kaolin, he showed her his new, white clay that he was beginning to use.
Kaolin told them the story of the stone and the vision she had of the citadel.
Norman looked at Kaolin with a serious look on his face and said, "I've heard of this slave trader; and I've heard that he is at this very time traveling to the citadel to meet with Daemon; but I didn't know that he could have anything to do with the disappearances of our neighbors."
Karine and Karla both looked at each other with shocked looks on their faces, hearing this for the first time.
Kaolin looked at Norman and asked him where he had heard of this slave trader.
"I heard of this slave trader while I was visiting a friend in one of the neighboring villages," said Norman.
"What village?" asked Kaolin.
"Cabochons," answered Norman.
"What is your friend's name?"
"Byron."
"I'll take a look," she said, taking out her stone (like she had experience). Kaolin held the stone up and looked into the dream. She traveled through the dream and looked into the Village of Cabochons, and found the man that Norman called Byron. When she found Byron, she found him in a heated discussion with the same man that she saw as the slave trader. The slave trader was using his "most persuasive" powers to recruit Byron into the slave trade, but Byron was still refusing. Kaolin even heard the slave trader refer to capturing more women from her own village.
Kaolin listened to the conversation and learned that Daemon used a mind control power over his slaves, and this mind control power controlled their perception and their thoughts. Without this power, his slaves could not function. So, Kaolin devised a plan. She planned that if she could use her power to obstruct the mind of Daemon, her friends could sneak in "The Evil Tower" through the subterranean passageways and free the girls, while the slaves of Daemon could not function.
Kaolin put her plan to the test. She focussed on her stone and the mind of Daemon. She found that she needed to use all her strength to obstruct his mind, but Daemon was no match for her stone. While his slaves were wandering around like zombies and her friends were freeing the condemned prisoners, Kaolin's mind traveled to a far distant place in the future; and she found two people sitting in a tree, kissing and talking about a mountain that kept appearing and disappearing. She communicated with the two kissers and told them that she saw that they could escape their hunters (that they hadn't seen, who were under the spell of Daemon who was using his mind control in the future time), by giving them directions to a round silvery sphere that she saw could save them from Daemon's hunters who were also at this time wandering around like zombies.
After the experience of talking(?) to Kaolin, Derek and Lana walked carefully to the object Kaolin described and saw the round silvery sphere, which they decided was a spaceship. They found a hatch, which they opened; and inside, they found what they thought was a control panel. Lana said, "She said something about escaping the hunters; well, why don't you push one of these buttons."
